May 3

It's May 3rd again.  The years seem to fly by these days.  It seems like only yesterday I spent this day painting Breena's nursery & setting up a crib in preperation for her arrival. And here I am a few short years later with with a preschooler, toddler, & infant.  My life couldn't be more different than it was on May 3, 2008.  It reminds me of the song "Before the Morning" by Josh Wilson.  I heard this song when it was released two years ago.  The lyrics couldn't be more fitting for my experience with May 3rd...

Do you wonder why you have to,
feel the things that hurt you,
if there's a God who loves you,
where is He now?

Maybe, there are things you can't see
and all those things are happening
to bring a better ending
some day, some how, you'll see, you'll see
Would you dare, would you dare, to believe,
that you still have a reason to sing,
'cause the pain you've been feeling,
can't compare to the joy that's coming

so hold on, you got to wait for the light
press on, just fight the good fight
because the pain you've been feeling,
it's just the dark before the morning

I'm extra grateful today for the morning light in my life and humbly thanking God for the beautifully tearful path that lead me to my three precious babies.  The emerald ring I wear on my hand reminds me of the promise that someday I'll hold my May 3rd baby.
